Mini greenhouse

Finally spending thousands of pounds on new windows was worth it - we've made my mini greenhouse! Last summer, my Wilko purchase bit the dust but now look what has taken it's place!

Loving our new drill even more as a screwdriver too!

Despite having a workmate Jon is still insistent on sawing in more unusual places

Well, if you can't beat them

ta-da!

Colourful Coggeshall

We've had a week off work and on Monday we went to Coggeshall in Essex for a couple of nights. We had a lovely break and also got inspired to do more house stuff! We've been thinking about painting the outside of our house since we moved in and when we had the windows done they just highlighted how rubbish the pebble dash looked.

So all the coulourful houses in Coggeshall helped us to start thinking about what colour to paint the outside of the house. What colour do you think will look best with our new grey windows?

Super 8 Cinema

Although this is not a lifestyle blog, you are sure to be amazingly jealous of our fabulous lifestyle.
So, this isn't about us inviting our really fashionable and cool friends round to watch hipster super8 films projected onto our living room wall, no! This is about how I plan to have this as a permanent set-up in our living room (but Hannah doesn't know yet).

This is another dental surgery giveaway - an x-ray light-box. I think it will become a permanent fixture, eventually. And maybe I'll get better at block ampersands.

Super8 looks like movies through Instagram or Hipstermatic, yeah.

This was setting up. Eventually, I'll get projector stand, but the ladder worked.

It was darker than this, but, you know, flash and that.

I think next time, I'll try some raked seating.

Sweet dreams for guests

For far too long we've been making our guests stay in a room with no curtains. So with an immanent visit from Mum Guthrie we decided now was the time to take matters in hand and put up the curtain pole in the sewing/spare room.

Jon! Look at what you're sawing!

It's still a temporary curtain but at least Mum can get changed without getting the neighbours hot under the collar.

Plant prints

We got some nice botanical prints from my parents for Christmas. They even had them framed for us!
But we still haven't found anywhere to put them.

For them time being they look nice on our mantelpiece. We might even fix them there. Not sure yet.

Snow sowing

It was snowing this morning, so obviously this is the right time to start growing for the summer. I may be risking it a bit but I just couldn't resist some speculative sowing. Some research on last year, shows that it's this time I can wait no longer.

Stuff is also growing out in the garden, including this. Any ideas what it is? Should I be pulling it out or seeing what happens?

Sitting room windows are finished!

Well I did have a productive Monday off. I finished our sitting room curtains. The material is all from Walthamstow market and I made them all by myself. Unfortunately I have only been able to take the most rubbish of photos to show you. You'll have to come round for a cup of tea to see them properly.
